Summary/Abstract: Most of the legal problems on Facebook are related to the right to privacy, data protection and the possibility of exercising the right to legal protection. These issues are regulated by EU regulations, primarily by the Data Protection Directive (Directive 95/46/EC), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC), the Directive amending the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive (Directive 2006/24/EC), the Directive also amending the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive (Directive 2009/136/EC), and the Telecom Package Directive (Directive 2009/140/EC). As can be noticed, one of the most important directives was adopted back in 1995. Despite this, this directive remained a cornerstone in the development of further EU legal regulations in the field of data protection and privacy rights, primarily because long-standing judicial practice is based on this directive. Other directives represent an upgrade to enable the application of these directives in the field of electronic communications. The directive from 1995 served as the basis for the new General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679), which comes into force on 25/05/2018. year. A series of examples from practice and court judgments resulting from the use of Facebook, which are listed in this book "Facebook, data protection and judicial practice" should represent a serious warning to all users of this social network with the aim of being much more careful when using this social network, that is, to be aware of all the consequences that their activities on Facebook can cause.
