Summary/Abstract: Central Europe, alongside the Far East, has become one of the world's most dangerous crisis zones. Time and again, explosions there signal to the Western world that certain problems remain unresolved, problems that either must be addressed or will sooner or later plunge Europe into new and dangerous conflicts. What are the natural foundations of Central Europe? What are its current problems? How can the Central Europe of tomorrow be shaped—a more balanced, healthier one, a Central Europe that no longer represents a flashpoint for world peace? These are questions that cannot be answered with romanticism or threats of war, but only with the safer, yet far more useful, methods of common sense. This is what we will attempt here.
