Summary/Abstract: In the fall of 2001, the realization of the project of the Civil Society Club of Group 484 began, the result of which, among other things, is presented in this collection. The intention was to contribute to clearing up the discursive confusion and, consequently, the terminological irresponsibility and commotion that dominated and still dominates in the local "transitological vocabulary" with a classic, although not entirely conventional theoretical approach - problematization and elucidation, differentiation and nuance of concepts. We focused on questioning, it seemed to us, how widespread, insufficiently questioned and uncritically accepted terminology from the atmosphere of "civil society", which in current use, enriched with that "excess" of meaning and emotional investment, has acquired the character of an unreflective and, as a rule, theoretically non-operative password. Words such as "citizen", "public", "human rights", "democracy", "responsibility" figure more and more today as self-evident codes of a heavily ideologized formation.
