Summary/Abstract: For twenty years now, the political space of contemporary societies has been continuously obsessed with identity discussions. As striking examples, Jean-Claude Ruano Borbalan cites populism and the European parties of the extreme right, warning that the identity discourse is dispersive, since it is applied in a wide range - from artistic creativity and literature, through the repeated acceptance of ideologies of belonging to national communities to the exclusion of those who are not their members.
