Summary/Abstract: The extreme right in Serbia has been on the rise for two years now, which can be seen in the increasing number of ideologically motivated acts of violence. The main radicalizing factor in Serbia and the generator of extremism is the dominant political narrative about the past, i.e. about the wars of the nineties, along with actualizing the nationalist matrix and maintaining Serbia's aspirations in the region. A new generation of young right-wingers is directly and indirectly radicalized on the official narrative about the wars of the 1990s. Our research has shown that young people do not have a realistic idea of ​​what happened in the nineties and that they spontaneously process knowledge about wars in a wrong way in search of their identity. The special focus of the research is also on the fighters who went to foreign battlefields, primarily Syria and Ukraine. The risk of trips to Ukraine and engagement on the Russian side still exists, while trips to the battlefields in Syria have not been recorded for a long time. Overall, Islamist extremism is in significant decline and there is currently no real threat of violent extremist activity.
