Summary/Abstract: The amount of available mineral deposits is limited and is currently being slowly depleted. It is therefore necessary to search for new deposits. One of the complications that can arise is when a deposit is located on the territory of two or more countries. This causes a number of doubts about the legal basis for carrying out such activities. The monograph aims to verify the following research hypothesis: there are no sufficiently precisely formulated definitions of terms related to cross-border mining and shared natural resources, and the regulations pertaining to them are insufficiently concretized, and very often there are none at all. In addition, the current regulations are not consistent and make it impossible to undertake cross-border mineral exploration and mining in Poland.
