Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the commemoration strategies of the armed conflict in North Macedonia from its official end in August 2001 until today. The analysis shows that there are two dominant patterns of remembrance of 2001 in post-conflict Macedonia, which coincide with the two largest ethnic communities in the country, Macedonian and Albanian. Observing the developments each year, however, shows that commemorative practices within the two domains are not as uniform as they may seem. The paper argues that in the last two decades there have been critical changes in commemorative discourses, actors and activities, which indicate changing power dynamics related to the memory of the conflict and the peace agreement that ended it.
