Summary/Abstract: Just as explorers and sailors have been interested in Japanese culture and history since ancient times, so today there is interest in the "Japanese style" of business and work, as well as in economic and development policies. While for the study of ancient Japan, the most impressive sources are archaeological findings, Japanese (and Chinese) written sources and mythology, when researching related to the modern capitalist mode of functioning of the economy and society, the sources are the scientific works of researchers, as well as the books of prominent businessmen and official reports of state institutions, but also international organizations such as the World Bank, International Labor Organization, OECD, United Nations.
