Summary/Abstract: The organization Transparency Serbia continued to monitor the efficiency, institutional connection and legitimacy of the Anti-Corruption Agency (hereinafter: ABK) by analyzing four of the twenty responsibilities of this autonomous and independent state body, whose purpose is the prevention of corruption. For the purposes of this research, we analyzed the efficiency of the sector and department for handling petitions, regulations, control of funding of political entities and election campaigns, and monitoring of the implementation of the National Strategy for the Fight against Corruption. The agency has a large number of jobs and responsibilities, which are not sufficiently specified by laws. The behavior of other subjects also greatly affects whether they will fulfill their role. The Agency itself has not sufficiently specified its obligations, priorities and deadlines, which makes it even more difficult to achieve greater efficiency and achieve the expected goals. Nor does the new Law on Prevention of Corruption, which will enter into force in September 2020, contain solutions that would eliminate the problems in the work of the Agency, which we pointed out in last year's Barometer.
