Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this publication is to provide anyone interested with basic information on the content of Chapter 31: Common Foreign, Security and Defense Policy. The publication mainly follows the dynamics and content of the explanatory analytical review (so-called screening) for this negotiation chapter, held on July 15, 2014, with necessary additions, expansion of information and several corrections. The guide was written on the basis of material available on EU internet portals, numerous scientific publications related to the matter, as well as on the basis of interviews conducted by the author with representatives of the European External Action Service, the European Commission and other EU institutions in the period 2014-2020.
