Summary/Abstract: In 2024, the Humanitarian Law Fund (FHP) monitored all war crimes trials (23 cases) before the war crimes departments of the High and Appellate Courts in Belgrade. A total of 145 hearings were scheduled, and 94 were held. 15 hearings were not held due to the non-appearance of the defendants, 11 hearings were not held due to the non-appearance of witnesses, 12 hearings were not held for reasons unknown to the FHP and the public, and among the reasons for not holding the scheduled hearings were recorded the non-appearance of the defendants' defense attorneys or court expert, requests for the exemption of the trial panel or requests for a new the defense counsel for familiarization with the case, etc. In eight cases, the FHP provided legal assistance and logistical support to the victims' families.
