Summary/Abstract: The proposals for the improvement of the legal framework presented in this document represent concrete possibilities for amending and supplementing the current legislation in the field of consumer protection and competition protection, which provide for new institutional forms of consumer rights protection (consumer ombudsman; consumer arbitration), expand the competences of the national body for the protection of competition in the part of examining violations of the collective interest of consumers, provide for a new effective administrative measure for the protection of the collective interest of consumers, which consists in the obligation to pay a significant financial amount, enable the strengthening of the role of consumer organizations by improving their financial position (budgetary fund based on the "Consumer dinar" fee; programs for financing consumer organizations at the level of local self-government units) and a greater role in the investigation of competition violations before the Commission for the Protection of Competition, and which introduce a new procedural institute into our legal order - a representative collective action for the protection of consumer rights.
