Summary/Abstract: This book is the result of the author's long-term research in the field of insurance law, primarily contractual insurance law. The topic of cumulation of the right to the sum insured and the right to compensation for damages in the case of personal insurance was for a long time outside the focus of scientific works, because it was assumed that the issue was fully regulated by the matter of legal and by-law regulations. However, the author recognized a normative deficiency in the basic source of contractual insurance law in the legislation of the Republic of Serbia, the Law on Obligations, which can lead to legal uncertainty. Finding a proposal to overcome the mentioned deficiency was a special motive for the publication of this monograph.
