Summary/Abstract: The book Eight Nocturnes. Interpretations is an attempt to comprehensively consider the poetic cycle of Władysław Sebyła. The authors focus on the analysis and interpretation of each of the eight nocturne texts in order to listen to the dark and mysterious melody emanating from the entire cycle. Their voices harmonize at one point, then separate themselves in solo literary exegeses and speak again with a common voice. Throughout this textual excursion, researchers try to think about the entire poetic volume. They turn the hermeneutic circle of the text so that each lyrical text, as a micro-model of the whole, is subject to viewing in its individuality and belonging to the entire cycle. In particular, these works by Władysław Sebyła are among the most "dark" and carefully conceal their interpretive sound. Therefore, the research texts included in the volume constitute a response of academic discourse to this tangled poetic melody, in which what is visible, exposed and open is not necessarily important.
