Summary/Abstract: Monograph refers to the current social and legal problem of protecting workers' rights. It is an original approach to the analysis of criminal offenses regulated in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia, since the authors decided to analyze, in addition to criminal offenses from Chapter XVI of the Code (criminal offenses against rights based on work), all other legal descriptions that could be applied to cases of discrimination at work and exploitation of other people's work (e.g. sexual harassment, human trafficking) or taking advantage of the opportunity to obtain illegal property benefits in connection with work (embezzlement, servitude). The fact that the monograph is the result of the joint work of prominent experts in the field of labor and criminal law is the reason that we have before us an original scientific work in which the quality of the existing criminal law in the field of labor is explained and critically examined from both a scientific and a practical point of view. In doing so, the authors point to the lack of coherence of the criminal justice system and, more broadly, to disputed issues in which archaic criminal law provisions do not follow the development of labor and social legislation or current changes in labor relations, and therefore cannot be (adequately) applied to protect the rights of workers.
