Summary/Abstract: The most important contribution of this work is that, for the first time in the research of corruption, it is linked to tradition, especially regressive tradition. Milica Joković Pantelić's research clearly shows that the deepest causes of corruption are connected with its entrenched presence in people's consciousness, and that this presence is a consequence of a negative legacy from the past. This research becomes an indispensable part of future studies on the presence of corruption in the social and political life of Serbia.
