Summary/Abstract: During the fifth work cycle, the National Convention on the European Union successfully fulfilled its goals, following the mission and a very clear value system around which more than 700 civil society organizations gathered in five years. It was founded as a platform that recognizes and represents the interests of citizens of Serbia in all stages of the process of integration into the European Union. The convention is also a kind of corrective policy. Within the framework of institutions and procedures that enable the involvement of civil society in the process of negotiations with the European Union, we strive to influence the content of documents and the dynamics of negotiations through expert and analytical support to the Negotiating Team, formulating concrete recommendations and opinions on the ways in which it is possible and necessary to meet the criteria and conditions for membership in the EU, monitoring the accession process, monitoring the implementation of the necessary reforms, informing the public, promoting a culture of dialogue and citizen participation in order to create a society of the rule of law, social justice, sustainable development and accession to the European Union.
