Summary/Abstract: In the period from 2012 to 2014, the sessions of the NKEU working group Environment were dedicated to the participation of civil society organizations in the process of defining the environmental protection policy at the national and local level, as well as in the negotiations on Serbia's accession to the EU, in the chapters related to environmental protection and energy, the areas of financing the environmental protection system, climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, water management and cross-border cooperation in the field of the environment. In the mentioned period, the NKEU Environment working group consisted of 40 members, representatives of all interested groups (representatives of state bodies, non-governmental sector, professional associations, business sector and other social groups). Members of the working group actively participated in the formulation of proposals and recommendations, which were distributed to decision-makers and other interested parties in the form of a short proposal for a practical policy (policy paper).
