Summary/Abstract: The Guide to Environmental Policy is not only interesting, but also represents an extensive and comprehensive study, so to speak, a textbook for this area. It contains an overview of the state of EU policy and regulations in the field of environment, as well as basic indications about the current situation in Serbia. All the most important groups of regulations are covered: horizontal legislation, atmospheric pollution monitoring, water protection and management, noise, chemicals, industrial pollution control and industrial risks, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), conservation of wild fauna and flora, waste management, nuclear safety and radioactive waste, and civil protection. Of course, this Guide points to some basic questions, problems and challenges of importance for the implementation of regulations in this area. The appendices contain lists of the most important strategic documents of the EU and the Republic of Serbia, EU regulations with which national regulations of the Republic of Serbia are planned to be harmonized, national regulations in the field of the environment and international treaties to which Serbia is a member.
