Summary/Abstract: In Europe, the preparation of a new European strategy for integrated border management is underway, which reflects the necessity of joint action in the protection of external borders and which will provide a mechanism for fulfilling the obligation of solidarity and sharing responsibility between member states. In addition, the reform of the Common European Asylum System is ongoing, which will give greater authority to the European Union when it comes to the procedure and qualifications for asylum. Meanwhile, the new Law on Asylum and Temporary Protection was adopted in Serbia at the end of March 2018.
