Summary/Abstract: The relationship of the Czechoslovak people to Germanness, to the German people and their culture is indisputably one of the fundamental components of Czechoslovak history and has not ceased to be one of the main problems of Czechoslovak life, of the Czechoslovak national and state existence today. Several lectures would not suffice to fully explore and illuminate this problem. My presentation can only outline in broad outline how the relationship of the Czechoslovak people to Germanness has developed and changed throughout history, from its beginnings to the middle of the 19th century. (Two lectures given by K. Krofta at the Urania in Prague April 16 and May 16, 1934. PUBLISHED in 1934 by ORBIS PUBLISHING HOUSE, PRAGUE)
