Summary/Abstract: In the past decade, minority protection has become a central issue in European constitutional and political discourse, especially concerning participation in public life and elected bodies. While only a few countries like Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia have specific electoral laws to ensure minority representation, others facilitate it indirectly through exemptions or proportional representation systems. However, the impact of electoral systems on minority representation varies significantly depending on factors such as electoral thresholds, district sizes, and the presence of minority-specific political parties.
