Summary/Abstract: The Institute for Recent History of Serbia has decided to publish a monograph dedicated to this significant anniversary on the occasion of its half-century of existence. During that period, the Institute has gone from an institution responsible for collecting archival materials on the history of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, the National Liberation Front and socialism to a scientific institution whose associates study a wide range of topics from the social, political, economic and cultural history of Serbia and Yugoslavia in the 20th century. Its scientific importance has been confirmed by the publication of more than 150 monographs, 20 thematic collections, around 70 collections of documents and edited works, around fifteen biographies and bibliographies and several chronicles, chronologies, textbooks, calendars... In the preparation of this publication, the concept, methodology and basic content of the two Institute memorials have been essentially retained: the one from 1988 (editorial board: Dr. Jovan Dubovac, editor-in-chief, Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, Dr. Nadežda Jovanović, Dr. Dragoljub Petrović and Dr. Milan Borković) and the memorial from 1995 (editorial board: Dr. Momčilo Mitrović, editor-in-chief, Dr. Marija Obradović and Dr. Radmila Radić). The data provided in previous editions on the history of the institution until 1995, the associates and their scientific work were used, and then the development of the Institute after 1995 was presented. The associates of the Institute are presented in two parts – those who are currently employed at the Institute and those who used to work there. For the current associates, bibliographies of all works are given: monographs, articles, treatises, studies, chronicles, chronologies, bibliographies and published materials; for the former employees, bibliographies of works they published while working at the Institute are given.
