Summary/Abstract: CHAP (Change After Psychotherapy) represents a method that evaluate retrospectively experiential changes after psychotherapy completion. Presented text introduces a topic of retrospective interviewing in its first part and describes monitoring of psychotherapy outcomes by routinely used quantitative approaches and new qualitative ones. In the second part the CHAP method is explained together with preliminary experience of post-therapeutic changes assessment. CHAP based interview is focused on exploration of subjective experience of “having changed”. Assessors then rate changes through the perspective of symptoms, adaptive capacity, self-insight, basic conflict and extra-therapeutic factors. Third part of the text contains the Czech version of the CHAP manual (Sandell, 1997).
