Summary/Abstract: The author describes the circumstances surrounding intermarriages, the adaptive strategies devised by Ukrainian migrants in Warsaw metropolitan area and the interdependencies between their spatial and socio-economic mobility. She also presents the issues related to the functioning of mixed marriages in Poland in a broad context, joining in a discussion about tolerance, reducing socio-cultural, ethnic and racial distances as well as the emergence of new differences and identities.
