Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this book was to investigate how competences 4.0 have supported Erasmus+ project leaders in realisation, management and sustainability of transnational educational initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical part describes the process of creating the leadership competence model, which was then used in the study. Based on a literature review and bibliometric analyses, the definition of competences 4.0 in terms of the fourth industrial revolution was provided. There also has been described how the Erasmus+ Programme contributed to the competence development of its participants. The empirical part presents the results of a survey conducted by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System in 2020. It was based on an online questionnaire, which was completed by 990 Erasmus+ project leaders from Poland. Upon the data collected, the relationships between the 4.0 competency levels declared by the respondents and the sustainability of educational projects were analysed. The last part focuses on recommendations that can be implemented into public policy and practice.
