The author presents the main problems with distinguishing related speech genres which are based on exchange: conversation, dialogue and discussion. She makes review of the most important definitions of these terms which can be found in the literature, presents classifications of conversation and characterizes the media conversation. The second chapter is a review of various scientific publications (psychological, sociological, media studies, linguistic) in which sport is the leading issue. The third chapter concerns the linguistics-communicative analysis of conversations with volleyball players.
