Summary/Abstract: Swan Lake is an iconic title of classical ballet heritage. The report examines the correspondences with and the differences from the original staging of the ballet Swan Lake, realized in 1895 in St. Petersburg by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov (due to a missing video since then, I will accept that of Mariinsky Theater from 2006 for the closest to the original), but moved only in 2016 in Burgas. Following the structure representing the "skeleton" of the work, Mehmedov and assistant director Vesa Tonova presents her view on the classical form, preserving the plot development, the general drawing of the scenes, the semantic and choreographic place of the characters. Mehmedov also added his individual handwriting through multi-layered changes in the musical-choreographic drawing of the work. In this version of interest is also the overture, which is choreographed in its second part: the so-called Prologue. Distinctive is his view on the fourth act, where he raises the role of the ensemble to a state of fusion with the image of Odette and his active participation in the plot of the action.
