Editorial Challenges" very expertly differentiates the responsibilities of the sports reporter and commentator of current events from the responsibilities of the sports editor, because it is he who has to verticalize the horizontal picture of the sports world, has to muffle emotionality with rationality, to construct the media hierarchy of sports representation.
