Summary/Abstract: The concept of the “beautiful female corpse” of E. Bronfen is used to analyse the narrative functions of the dead woman in Dostoevsky’s “Idiot” (“The Idiot”, 1868) and “Krotkaja“ (“A Gentle Creature“, 1876).
