Summary/Abstract: The missionary activity of the Church covers the various situations mentioned by John Paul II. It is a mission ad gentes, as well as evangelization in traditionally Christian areas, including those that are de-Christianized. The eschatism of the mission manifests itself in many ways. The proclamation of Christ to all nations is a sign of the end times that expresses the active expectation of parousia. The preaching of the word “living and effective” is the preparation and anticipation of the final judgment. Sharing the joy of faith proclaims the Kingdom of God and anticipates the joy of heaven. Evangelization communicates the hope of eternal life and the truth about the meaning of history. It gives them meaning in view of their final fulfillment. It serves the unity of mankind intended in God’s plan.
