Summary/Abstract: Provision of pensions in Russia for born till 1967 is carried out by a distributive principle with periodic indexations of pensions in connection with inflation. Now the indicator of a parity of average pension to an average salary doesn't exceed 24 – 25 %. In 2009 working pensioners have made 34,4 %. Legal discrimination on employment of pensioners in Russia isn't present, but employers prefer the young. Since 2002 the pension reform is carried out in Russia, the main task of it is transition from a distributive principle of provision of pensions to distributive - accumulative. Development of accumulative part of pension system occurs not absolutely as it was in 2001 – 2002. Rates of increase of pension accumulation since 2005 are falling. The government admitted that pension reform demands updating.
