Summary/Abstract: The paper, which is divided into two interrelated parts, one is an introduction to the other, analyses international governmental organizations as subjects of international law. The authors give their basic conceptual definition, the fundamentals of their functions, and present their characteristics following the basic postulates of the law of international organizations. The second chapter of the first part examines the concept, meaning, and content of the international legal personality of international organizations, in which special attention is paid to specialized agencies in the United Nations system, the World Trade Organization, arising from the international arrangement of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and the International Monetary Fund, particularly its international legal status, organizational structure, and its tasks and functions. The central part of the paper deals with the issue of correlation between the relevant international organizations in terms of substantive and procedural aspects of the relationship between these international legal entities. To what extent these two specialized agencies that have a kind of economic discourse are focused on each other, whether their competencies overlap in a certain sense and whether there is a too broad interpretation of certain provisions of the WTO instruments, are important dilemmas that the authors of this paper seek to answer using applicable scientific methods.
