Summary/Abstract: The article represents an homage brought by generations of disciples to the memory of Mr. Academician Constantin Toma, an illustrious forerunner, one of the founders of the Academic School of Biology at Alma Mater Iassiensis. The text attempts to present to the readers the image of the mentor, and researcher, bound body, and soul to the ideals of professional becoming through education and creative scientific endeavour, the man who served with devotion the biological sciences in this corner of the country and world for over half a century.
