Summary/Abstract: The approximately 500 years of Ottoman control of Dobruja were also marked by the presence of settlements, urban or rural, together with the related cemeteries. However, so far, no anthropological study has been carried out for the Dobruja area regarding an Ottoman cemetery. The Ottoman plane necropolis dating from the 16th-17th centuries from Cheia Pazvant is the first analyzed from this point of view. Even if the human skeletal group is small (10 individuals), it is a beginning and must be seen as such at this stage of research, both statistically and comparatively, with other synchronous skeletons or from other regions of the empire.
