Summary/Abstract: In Côte d’Ivoire, French as a foreign language is the language of instruction notwithstanding the linguistic pluralism specific to this country. This creates disadvantages for a part of the population from disadvantaged backgrounds. The purpose of this paper is to show the contribution and usefulness of mother tongues in resolving health crises and the close relationship between them and the cultural, economic and social development of a nation. Since they have proved their worth, their introduction into the education system, their participation in all sectors of activity, both private and public, could allow everyone to contribute to the development of the country. These measures will tend to make mother tongues more efficient, to enhance our habits and customs by avoiding acculturation of the speakers present in order to strengthen their link between culture and school.
