Summary/Abstract: From a spatial point of view, the habitat area of the Petreşti communities from Alba Iulia – Lumea Nouă is largely the same as that of the Foeni populations here. At the same time, the Petreşti settlement somewhat follows the line of extension of the Foeni communities, from phase III of their evolution, in the same area identifying the process of gradual transformation of the populations of the cultural group Foeni, in the direction of Petreşti.This paper presents the results of the techno-typological and functional analysis of the carved lithic ensemble belonging to the Petreşti community, but also of the small sample of Foeni-Petreşti pieces from Lumea Nouă. The carved lithic material undergoes some changes from the point of view of the approach of the rocks, compared to the previous period (Foeni cultural group).
