Summary/Abstract: This article explores the topic of returns of Stanisław Vincenz to his lostgeographies. It highlights the problem through lens of psychological notionsdepicting processes of remembering and forgetting formulated by psychologistsBluma Zeigarnik and Maria Owsiankina. According to the article, the behaviour ofthe writer bears many symptoms which are specific to mentioned psychologicalconcepts. From the considered habits of the writer the most striking are hisconstant voluntary returns to the interrupted act and the strong determination tofinish it. The analysis of selected writer’s letters, scripts of conversations, diaries fragments etc., shows that observations made by cited Russian researchers can beused in literature studies.
