Summary/Abstract: Sports marketing is an important part of modern sports so the sale of television rights, sponsorships, sponsorship agreements and the sale of props are just some of the components of the marketing process of any sports team. The function of sports marketing includes activities related to planning and elaboration of promotions of club activities in business terms, obtaining sponsorship and donor funds, designing the organization of matches and tournaments. The main goal of the paper is giving a contribution to strategic and operational marketing planning and point out the basic guidelines for the future operations of the basketball club „Cibona“ from Zagreb.
