BETWEEN PRESENT AND FUTURE: UNCERTAINTY AND SECURITY SELF-MANAGEMENT IN TIMES OF CORONAVIRUS

Summary/Abstract: Through analysis of the interviews conducted with the female store, drugstore and pharmacy employees facing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in their workplace, I investigate ways in which uncertainty influenced their perception of the future. I focus on how the visions of potential futures shape their everyday practices. In particular, I am interested in anticipation of the future, a concept which explores how future influences present. I explore, how in this difficult times my research partners have been self-managing their security in the workplace. This article is an attempt to analyze ethnographical materials gathered during COVID-19 – times methodologically challenging.
