Summary/Abstract: The article is an interdisciplinary contribution to the current discussion on different aspects of COVID-19 pandemic. First paragraph (Introduction) has an introductory character and COVID-19 is presented as a bio-ecological phenomenon and epidemiological notion. Second paragraph (COVID-19 Pandemic) presents the global and dynamic picture of the COVID-19 as well as triggering strategic elements in the fight with the spread of infections. The next paragraph (Pestilence versus an age-old Plague) is dedicated to the problem of cultural and historical aspects of the plague reflecting the most archaic and metaphoric sense of epidemic together with its universal scenario. In the last paragraph titled COVID-19 between the Anthropology of Fear and Anthropology of Hope the author presents COVID-19 as a metaphor of the global terminal disease and the mirror of our times to be changed.
