Summary/Abstract: Newscasts are placed in the centre of broadcasting. They define the appearance and the character of the television. The following article analyzes the problems of oral communication in the newscasts in the Bulgarian national television and News 7 television. The article analyzes the news presenters’ clarity of pronunciation, articulateness, presence/absence of dialectisms, intonation, etc. The journalists’ performance in the public television and in the commercial television will be compared according to the degree of the professional realization of their verbal expression: tempo-rhythm, tone, logical and emotional pauses, etc.
