Building an educational language portal using existing dictionary data

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the process of building the Franček Slovenian language portal aimed at primary- and secondary-school students. We discuss problems and solutions of linking and adapting existing non-pedagogical dictionaries for school use, while overcoming content and structural differences among the dictionaries. We also present some solutions within the process of adaptation to the online medium and visualisation adjustments for three age groups of school users with different content needs and levels of (meta)linguistic knowledge.
