Summary/Abstract: The goal of this study is to investigate the changes in motivation and attitudes experienced by university students of Spanish as a foreign language during the five years of their college education at the Maria Curie Sklodowska University of Lublin (Poland). The longitudinal design was used to analyze the changes of these variables at the beginning and at the end of the study. The results of the tests conducted on the last year of student education showed that the motivation for the Spanish learning increased, instrumental and integrative motivation decreased and the intrinsic motivation and attitudes maintained on the same level.
