Summary/Abstract: There exist some constructions in Spanish in which a VP-internal constituent appears in what is commonly referred to as the left periphery of the clause (Rizzi, 1997, among others). Leonetti and Escandell Vidal (2009) argue that these constructions are namely four: partial interrogative clauses, dislocations, focus fronting, and verum focus. In this paper I present some data which, prima facie, do not fit in this proposed classification. However, upon closer scrutiny and following a suggestion made in Escandell Vidal & Leonetti (2011), I defend the argument that these cases are run-of-the-mill dislocations.
