Summary/Abstract: Communicative skills play a crucial part in successful professional activity. This includes not only technical language and everyday communication, but also job-related language. The present article provides an approach to the question of existing definitions of job-related language as an register. Also the question of characteristic aspects of job-related language will be discussed in this article. The article ends with an outlook on the didactic potential of modeling the job-related language register and on a current research project.
