Summary/Abstract: The present study treats the interrelations between the Bulgarian and the Serbian letters in the 12th-14th cc. The following major issues have been considered: the emergence of Raska redaction under the influence of the Turnovo spelling from the end of the 12th с. and the beginning of the 13th c., the Raska redaction as a source for the reconstruction of the early Turnovo spelling norm, the influence of the Raska letters on the late Middle Bulgarian spelling in the southwest Bulgarian lands and the Vidin Kingdom of loan Sratzimir. Information about the history of Bulgarian spelling in the Middle Ages has been gathered and classified.
