Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the possibility of using new methods for the identification and verification of individuals, i.e. biometric techniques. Nowadays, the use of biometrics grows, which entails the adaptation of legal norms to current trends. The author points out the changes in the protection of biometric data in connection with the introduction of the GDPR, especially in the context of making biometric data as a special category.
