Summary/Abstract: The Charismatic renewal concept is present in the Old Testament, as well as in the New Testament. St. Paul deals with the charismas in several of his letters. Thus, one can find out the order and importance of them, as well as the use of them. Charismas are always in service of the community. The Pentecostal charismatic renewal originates i n the 19th century from the USA Methodist and Baptist churches. The Catholic Charismatic movement began in 1967 in the USA, in Pennsylvania. In 2000 the Catholic Charismatic movement had 119, 910 million members. In 2000 the Pentecostal charismatic renewal had 442,5 million members. In 2000 from the 6 billion people representing the population of the world 2 billions were Christians.
