Summary/Abstract: The dynamics of the international security environment, marked by instability, multiple risks and threats, violent confrontations and manifestations, generates a change in paradigm in approaching the new types of conflicts. The model of ”frozen conflicts“ is the approach of the Russian Federation in response to the actions of regional and international actors in its neighborhood, the European Union, the North Atlantic Alliance, and implicitly the United States of America. In this context, developing A2/AD capabilities in Crimea is Moscow’s solution for maintaining its strategic game in the Extended Black Sea Region and strategic military rebalancing in Eurasia.A long-term solution to these security challenges for the states in the region is likely to belong to alliances or political-military organizations that represent their foreign policy interests and ensure their security and territorial integrity.
